According to the decision made by the Ministry of Health, several measures has been introduced to the public regarding the traveling regulations during the coronavirus outbreak. These regulations are emphasized below:

The decisions taken as of July 8, 2020 are as follows.

 People coming to TRNC from countries in category B will be able to enter the country after providing their negative PCR test results that they have done between three and five days before their trip. A second PCR test will be carried out to these people during their entrance to TRNC and until the results come out, those who have hotel reservations will isolate themselves in the hotel, and those who will stay at home will isolate themselves as promised. Individuals will be able to enter the country with the PCR test results, which were done between 0-2 days before the start of the trip. However, these people will be quarantined at the centers determined by the Ministry of Health for 3 days and PCR tests will be carried out at the end of the 3rd day. Test and quarantine fees will be covered by the passenger concerned.

The individuals who will go to Turkey and come back within Five days (including the fifth day) will be able to enter the country without having to repeat the PCR tests upon entering the island on the condition that they document that the PCR tests performed in the last 3 days without leaving the TRNC are negative. However, between the fifth and seventh days after these people entered the country, they will go to Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital or Famagusta State Hospital and provide second PCR samples. In the case that the people do not have PCR test, the PCR tests will be done upon their arrival. However, these people will be quarantined at the centers determined by the Ministry of Health for 3 days and PCR tests will be carried out at the end of the 3rd day. The tests and quarantine fees will be covered by the passenger concerned.

* If the passengers enter TRNC via Turkey or Southern Cyprus after staying 14 days in these countries, The category rules of that country will be applied to the passengers. If they stay in these countries for less than 14 days, they will be subject to the quarantine conditions of the country they first went to for TRNC.

* For those coming from the C category countries, it is obligatory to document the PCR test result, which is negative between three and five days before the flight date, when they enter the TRNC. These people will be given a 2nd PCR test when entering the country and a quarantine application will be carried out in a quarantine center determined by the Ministry of Health for 14 days. At the end of the quarantine, they will exit the quarantine by taking the 3rd PCR tests.

* Considering the decrease in the number of UK cases, it is anticipated that flights from this country to the island may start on July 16, 2020. The people who will come to the island from the UK on July 16 will be able to enter the island with the PCR test result, which is negative between three and five days before the boarding date. At the entrance these people will be taken into 7-day quarantine by taking their 2nd PCR. At the end of the quarantine, they will exit the quarantine by taking the 3rd PCR tests. TRNC citizens and TRNC citizens who reside in TRNC will be exempted from quarantine fees. Other than that, people entering the country from the UK will meet the test and quarantine fees themselves.

* The staff of the diplomatic mission, the UN, the EU, the British Bases Area and similar international organizations in Cyprus will be asked to show the COVID-19 negative result for once in the first pass. However, TRNC citizens working in the buffer zone will be asked to show their COVID-19 negative test results every 15 days when they enter the country and their UN local staff and TRNC citizens working in the British Base Zones.

Legal action will be taken against those who do not comply with the decisions taken to protect the public health under the Communicable Diseases Law.

Note:

PCR tests of people who have been outside the island in the last 14 days and will pass to Northern Cyprus from the land gates are performed only at Metehan and Beyarmudu Land gates.
The quarantine fee is 265 TL per day per person (including meals) and the test fee is 300 TL. Quarantine fees and test fees will be paid at the hotel. Children aged 0-6 (including 6 years old) will be exempt from quarantine fees.
PCR test results will not be requested from children in the 0-2 age group who will enter the country.
The period of three to five days prior to the boarding date specified above will be evaluated based on the date of issuance of PCR samples.
PCR test results obtained 6 days before or before the travel date will not be valid at the entrance to the country. Those who submit tests in this way will not be admitted to the country.
